Vicky Nicholas, owner of Perfect Planners, had a wedding that was untraditional by all accounts - but it was perfect for her.
Growing up in the UK, Vicky had dreamed about having a traditional wedding: the stunning white dress, lots of flowers, all her family and friends. The wedding she ended up having was very different, but it also showed her that dream weddings come in all shapes and sizes.
Vicky and Neil got engaged on their first anniversary of being together. While they thought of starting their wedding plans, life kept taking them on different turns. They were saving to take a trip to Canada and were working on getting their permanent residency approved. About a year after they had gotten engaged, they visited Toronto to spend more time in their future home.
They should have been deep in the throws of wedding planning by now, but it just didn’t feel right. Neil had lost his dad that year, Vicky had lost a dear friend, and wedding planning just wasn’t on their minds.
Out for dinner for their anniversary, Vicky asked Neil, “What are we waiting for? Life is just too short. Why don’t we get married while we’re in Toronto?”
Vicky and Neil were married six and half weeks later at the Fallsview Marriott Hotel in Niagara Falls. Vicky wore red – far from the traditional white gown she had grown up dreaming about. But that didn’t matter.
Was it the dream wedding Vicky had thought she would have? No. But was it perfect for her and Neil at that time in their lives? Yes!

Cassandra Raisig, Social Media & Customer Service Manager
Cassandra loves using her attention to detail to ensure every aspect of your wedding is perfect.
Cassandra has a love for event planning, and is a certified wedding planner by the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC). She has extensive knowledge of retail and event management and her meticulous eye is an asset to every event.
Cassandra is engaged to Matt and has a son. When she’s not working she likes to go for drives out of the city. If Matt can’t find her. he can usually find her shopping at Homesense with credit card in hand!
Claudia Cole, Lead Planner
Claudia is a certified wedding planner through WPIC and the Gay Wedding Institute. With over 15 years experience working in events at various luxury brand hotels, she brings a strong sense of operational knowledge on weddings and catered events. Working in the hospitality industry has provided her with a unique flair for communication and a keen eye for detail.
She got engaged to James in November 2021 and will be getting married in 2023.
Nicole Gibson - Lead Planner
Nicole is also a certified planner through WPIC. After being in the wedding industry on the decor side, she decided she wanted to combine her creativity and organizational skills with her love for special events. She joined Perfect Planners in July 2021, although she has worked with us for 5 years in her previous role.
She was married to Peter in September 2019 and she has a dachshund named Oliver, who is her partner-in-crime anytime she’s at home.
Stefanie Baldeo - Lead Planner
Stefanie loves weddings!
Stefanie joined the Perfect Planners Team in 2020, and quickly fell in love with the coordinating role.
She’s always the go-to person to organize special occasions for family and friends, who knew she could apply this passion to a bigger scale with Perfect Planners!
Between weddings, Stefanie is fighting financial crime as a Compliance Officer for a small fintech company based in London, UK or she is on a flight to explore a new country, culture, and food!
She’s short but quick on her feet, professional and a team player.
She’s excited to coordinate weddings with Perfect Planners and the team!
Jennifer Carreon - Lead Planner
Jen loves spending time with her husband and children and loves food. She is a huge foodie and is very partial to bread! She loves everything about weddings including how each one is different and she loves to travel.
Jen joined the Perfect Planners team in July 2020.
Tevonne Carnegie - Lead Planner
Tee absolutely loves weddings! Working with her clients and their families through their waves of emotion and simply having the opportunity to play a part in bringing a dream wedding to life, is all that matters to her.
She is an experienced Wedding Planner with over 10 years experience in the industry and is also certified through WPIC. Tee joined the Perfect Planners team in 2023, although she has partnered with Perfect Planners for many years.
Tee is a mom of two and loves family time with her husband and kids.
Nancy Huang - Assistant Planner
Nancy lives in Toronto with her husband and her son. She has excellent customer service skills and you and your guests will love her sweet nature. She will makes sure that everyone is having a great time.
Teresa Farmer - Assistant Planner
Teresa joined the Perfect Planners team in 2023.
She fell in love with event planning when she planned her own wedding.
She really enjoy making a couple's day as special as it could be!
On her day off she loves spending time with her husband on the golf course, at the gym or planning their next trip together!
Guneet Singh - Assistant Planner
Guneet has over 10 years of experience in the events industry and over five in the wedding industry. She is certified by Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC) and loves unique wedding events! Being able to provide the best experience possible to all the guests, not only the couple, is very important to her. When she’s not working, she loves being outdoors, under the sun, and her favorite post event food is tacos or an A&W Beyond Meat burger!
